Works of Service

Way to go Cara!  The blog looks great!  This is a great idea and I look forward to all of our spiritual growth.....so here's my first post

As you all know, my goal is to give the Lord more of my time through works of service to glorify him.  After all, this is what we are here for right?  Everyone has been given gifts that they can use to be disciples for Christ.  As Paul says in his letters to the Ephesians 4:11....
It was he (God) who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God's people for WORKS OF SERVICE, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.  Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of men in their deceitful scheming.  Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into him who is the Head, that is, Christ.  From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.

That being said, Jessie and I have recently signed up for a mission trip to Arkansas in June.  Also, as of Sunday, I will be the project manager on an event called Mission Possible.  Are small groups class will be doing maintenance/repair work for a local christian based after school program who has several facilities located in poverty stricken portions of springfield.  I might ask for help :)  so be ready.

I hope all of you are making progress with your goals of living better for Christ and I'm glad I have a group of friends to share this journey with.
